High Grade Family frontliner, Samini has opened on why he endorsed President Akufo-Addo.
Samini received a lot of backlash from a section of Ghanaian social media users after he composed a song to support Nana Addo’s Presidential bid for the second time.
He dropped a new song titled ‘Kpoyaka’ which touted Nana Akufo-Addo’s achievements.
Samini also called on Ghanaians to extend the mandate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer.
An allegation even surfaced online that he was paid by the party before he composed the song—but he looks unfazed.
After one of his Twitter followers advised him to stand for the truth if he has any plans to venture into full-time politics, the ‘Forever’ composer disclosed his motive for endorsing Nana Addo.
He explained that his decision is beyond political party colours.
Samini replied on Twitter: “Thanks my brother I’ll make sure I put Ghana first. I come from one of the most deprived areas in this country and a chance to do something in politics to benefit my people and eventually better their lives will be an amazing opportunity. My decision is beyond party colors bro.”
