Mr Augustine Owusu Addo, the father of popular Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, known in showbiz as Sarkodie, has revealed why he named him Michael.
Speaking in a recent interview, Sarkodie’s father stated that he decided to name Sarkodie Michael because he was an ardent fan of deceased American pop star, Michael Jackson.
“As you know, he is called Michael Owusu Addo. I was a very big fan of Michael Jackson so that’s how come I named him Michael. I didn’t know he was going to be great in music as he is now,” he disclosed.
Mr Owusu Addo also expressed his happiness about the success of his son in the music industry.
“When he started, I actually asked him and he said it was just like a hobby but I realized he went on with it and now here he is. I am very happy and I pray he does even better,” he remarked.
Commenting on his favourite song from Sarkodie, he mentioned Brighter Day (Hope) which featured Obrafour.
