The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Foklex Media Awards, Frank Owusu has revealed that the award scheme was put on hold after the maiden edition.

He disclosed in a recent interview with Newshuntermag.com’s Kofi Oppong Kyekyeku on Unlimited Chat With K.O.K that he put it on hold for about four (4) years.

Mr Frank Owusu detailed that this was in 2007 and he bounced back between 2011 and 2012 for the subsequent editions.

According to him, this was a result of some challenges he faced following the maiden edition.

He bemoaned over how difficult it was for them to get sponsorship to ensure the smooth running of the award scheme.

Even up to date, he indicated that sponsorship remains one of the challenges.

The CEO of Foklex Media Awards mentioned how people opposed the nominations and victories of others as another challenge.

After organizing the award scheme for some years now, he thanked all those who have played pivotal roles to ensure the success of the award scheme.

The 10th edition of the Foklex Media Awards will be held at the National Theatre in Accra on April 24, 2021.
