President Akufo-Addo Nominates Mark Okraku Mantey As Deputy Minister For Tourism, Arts And Culture

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has nominated Mark Okraku Mantey as the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture.

His position is pending approval by the Appointments Committee of Parliament.

“The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, submitted to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, the names of the following persons for appointment, as Minister of State and Deputy Ministers, in his new Government, for Parliament’s approval.

“President Akufo-Addo is hopeful that, just as was done for his Ministers, Parliament will, on a bi-partisan basis, expedite the approval of his Deputy Ministerial nominees, so they can join the Government forthwith, and assist in the delivery of his mandate for his second term in office,” Eugene Arhin, the Ag. Director of Communications at Office of the President said in a statement Newshuntermag.com chanced upon.

His appointment comes after some industry players vigorously campaigned for him.

Mark Okraku Mantey was the President of the Creative Arts Council before his nomination.
