Residents cry over bad road network in Sunyani West

A section of residents in the Sunyani West Municipality within the Bono Region are crying for help.

Speaking to Newshuntermag.com, the residents bemoaned over how their road network has deteriorated following a recent flood.

The road linking communities like Tainso, Abisu, Baamu, Adoe and Odumase, the Sunyani West Municipal capital, has become unmotorable after the rain sets in.

The stranded residents bitterly complained about how commercial activities have been halted.

They blamed the contractor who has abandoned his work in the area.

For about two weeks now, the residents said the schools in the area have been closed because the teachers are unable to cross the rivers.

One of the residents, who gave his name as Anaba Alexander, averred authorities rushed to start constructing the abandoned bridge prior to the 2020 general elections.

Sadly, the contractor has not continued the work after the elections.

He added that the bridge was not constructed to the required specifications.

The residents, therefore, appealed to the government and the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly to intervene and get the contractor back to the site.

Watch how they aired their frustrations in the video below.
