Scores of people took to the streets today, Tuesday, October 3, to carry out the anticipated demonstration dubbed #OccupyBoG Protest which has been in the works since the #OccupyJulorbiHouse demonstration came off.

The protest is being spearheaded by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), the pressure group known as Arise Ghana, and some other activist groups in the country.

They are demanding the immediate removal of the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Ernest Addison, as well as his deputies.

This call emanates from what they describe as incompetence and mismanagement on the part of these officials, which have led to the woeful state of the Bank and the financial hurdles facing the state.

Early in the morning, the protesters started from Obra Spot and they intend to march through several areas including the National Lottery Authority, and then conclude at the Independence Square.

The participants, who are clad in red and black attires and armed with placards are also calling out President Nana Akufo-Addo, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, and Finance Minister, Ofori Atta, among other state leaders for incompetence and bad leadership.
