Acting IGP Orders CID Headquarters To Provide Technical Support To Bono Regional CID Over The Murder Of 3 Persons At Abesim

The police in the Bono Region have begun investigations into the murder of some individuals at Abesim, near Sunyani.

Residents of Abesim became shocked after a man was arrested on Saturday morning for storing human parts in his fridge.

Following this, the Acting Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare has ordered the Headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to provide technical support to the Bono Regional CID to investigate the murder of these individuals.

“The murder case involves one Richard Appiah, a 28-year-old architect, suspected to have murdered 12 and 15 years old young men and a yet-to-be identified man whose bodies were found in his living quarters at Alaska near Abesim on Friday, August 20, 2021,” part a press release from the police sighted by Newshuntermag.com read.

“The police in collaboration with members of the community arrested suspect Richard Appiah, who is currently in police custody assisting the investigation.

“The Acting IGP, Dr George Akuffo Dampare has commended the police and the community for the swift response in arresting the suspect and entreats that civil-police collaboration should be deepened to promote peace and security in the society,” the statement signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kwesi Ofori, the Acting Director-General, Public Affairs, added.
