The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the killing of a suspect who stabbed an officer to death in Berekum, Bono Region.
A statement from the police said the suspect, Yaw Peprah, stabbed the deceased officer, General Sergeant Bright Annobil, on the neck severally with a sharp knife when he was invited to the police station to assist in an investigation on Saturday, January 15, 2022.
He then ran away after stabbing the police officer.
Yaw Peprah attempted to attack the officers who went to arrest him; he was shot and killed in the process.
The family members of the deceased police officer have been assured by the police administration of their support in this difficult moment.
