Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson is demanding answers following the introduction of the E-Levy.
Ghanaians will now pay 1.5 per cent on electronic transactions.
In a post-Newshuntermag.com has come across, the popular actress could not believe why President Akufo-Addo is justifying E-Levy after he led the Kume Preko demonstration against VAT.
If his reason was because of the high cost of living at that time, Lydia averred people are finding it difficult to make ends meet currently.
She further questioned what has changed after President Akufo-Addo’s position some years ago.
Lydia Forson tweeted: “It’s still hard to believe that our president led the Kume Preko against VAT (value added tax) because of the high cost of living then. Over 25 years later, he’s justifying #elevy at a time when people are barely making ends meet. What changed? Power?”
