Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, the President, Bono Regional House of Chiefs (BRHCs) and Paramount Chief of Dormaa Traditional Area has pledged support for the documentation of the Bono dialect.

He gave the assurance when the Management and Board members of the Bono Twi documentation project visited the House to update them on the progress so far and to solicit their support and blessings of the Traditional Authorities.

Oseadeayo Agyemang Badu II noted documenting the Bono language would be of great academic, culture and economic benefit for not only the Bono people but Ghana in general, hence worth supporting.

The project, according to Mr Kwaku Ansu Gyeabour, the Founder, Coordinator and organizer was to ensure that the Bono language is documented and well recognized as one of the Akan languages to be thought in School.

This, he said, would facilitate Socio-cultural development and improve moral uprightness amongst children in the Bono region.

Oseadeayo Agyemang Badu II, therefore, donated an office space in the Dormaa Central Municipality to support the promotion of the Bono language and also pledged other needed support for the project and encouraged the team to speed up activities to make the dream a reality.

Nana Akosua Kumi Sasraku Sradaa, the Adontenhemaa of Aboabo No4 Dormaa Traditional Area and the treasure of the project thanked the House for the warm reception and gesture to help make the Bono language a national priority.

She said the move would evolve the dialect which she termed the “first Akan language”.
