The Black Stars of Ghana won its first match in the World Cup 2022 against South Korea.
It was a match full of tension at the Education Stadium in Qatar.
At the end of 90+10 minutes, Ghana secured a 3-2 victory.
Ghana went up in the first through goals scored by Mohammed Salisu in the 24th minute and Mohammed Kudus in the 34th minute.
Ghanaians were hoping for a better second half following the two goals lead.
But the story turned as Cho Gue-sung netted a quick brace for the South Koreans in the 58th and 61st minutes.
South Korea put more pressure on the Ghanaians, but they were contained by the defence and impressive saves by Lawrence Ati-Zigi.
Mohammed Kudus extended Ghana’s lead to 3-2 after 68 minutes of play.
The South Koreans were eager to get back into the game. They drew 0-0 against Uruguay, while Ghana lost 3-2 against Portugal in the opening matches of Group H in the World Cup 2022.
As it stands now, Portugal is on top of the group with three points as they face Uruguay later. Ghana is second with three points, while Uruguay and South Korea are having a point each.
