Ghanaian rapper, Kwaw Kese, has commented on his locked-up royalties with the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO).
Recently, the rapper complained that he has not received any royalties after doing music for 20 years.
He further revealed how Ghanaian musicians are struggling.
After his complaint, it came to light that he has some royalties with GHAMRO.
Rex Omar, the interim Chairman of GHAMRO, revealed that Kwaw Kese has about GHS 13,000 sitting in the black box of the organization.
He clarified that the musician needs to give his details in order to receive the money because he has not updated his records.
But reacting to this, Kwaw stated that the GHS 13,000 is not enough after 20 years of being active in the music industry.
The ‘Abodam’ rapper also claimed that he has not received any calls from GHAMRO.
He wrote: “Thanks for your effort 🙏🏽. I haven’t gotten any calls from GHAMRO. 13k for 20yrs isn’t enough. Was expecting 6 figures but once it’s my money I’ll take it.”
