Ghana’s Trade Minister, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, has resigned.

Reports say he tendered his resignation letter to President Akufo-Addo on January 5, 2023.

The reason behind his resignation is currently not known.

However, it is widely reported that he is still interested in contesting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer position.

Whether his resignation is linked to his flagbearership ambition or not, time will tell.

Alan Kyerematen is a popular figure in the NPP.

He has been contesting the NPP leadership position in 2007, 2010 and 2014. Alan was defeated by the now-President Akufo-Addo.

He was sworn in as the Trade Minister in 2017.
