Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson, has made an interesting remark about why Nigerians are getting Grammy nominations over Ghanaian artistes.

Over the years, Ghanaian artistes have been mocked over their inability to grab a nomination for the Grammy Awards.

In a tweet seen by Newshuntermag.com, the popular actress shed light on what might be the cause.

Lydia stated that lack of support; denigrating and mocking of Ghanaian artistes are causing more harm than God.

She thinks Nigerians are supporting their own better than Ghanaians.

The assertive actress made this statement after a Twitter user mocked Sarkodie following Tems win at this year’s Grammy Awards.

She won the Best Melodic Rap Performance category after her contribution to the Wait for U song with Future and Drake.

Following her victory, a Twitter user said Tems was in KG2 when Sarkodie said he was on his way to Grammy.

Lydia Forson replied to the tweet: “The difference is while they promote and support their own; WE denigrate, mock and use our platform for silly comparisons and debates. Want better? Do better. ✌🏾❤️.”

She added: “Maybe if we spent more time promoting Ghanaian music, movies, artist etc instead of constantly mocking, nitpicking and finding faults; we would all be a lot more successful.

But from artist to audiences alike, we spent way more time being against each other, than supporting.”
