Atta Akoto Senior, a top radio manager, has reacted to the perception that media personalities in the Bono Region are not paid well.
For some years now, it has been widely speculated that radio presenters in the Bono Region receive fewer payments.
When asked about this in a discussion with Kofi Oppong Kyekyeku on Unlimited Chat With K.O.K aired on Top City TV, Mr Akoto had a divergent opinion.
Factoring in resources, market size and others, he argued that the perception is not true.
He stated that an efficient manager manages with available resources.
The well-versed radio manager and marketer questioned how much radio stations in the region rake in.
Having seen it all, Mr Atta Akoto revealed no radio station in Sunyani, the capital of the Bono Region, easily makes GHS 30, 000 a month.
Meanwhile, they have to buy electric power for about GHS, 5,000, GHS 6,000, GHS 8,000 and more monthly.
Additionally, Mr Akoto mentioned the tax obligations, repairs, salaries, and other issues that they have to attend to.
Looking at this, he doesn’t think media personalities in the region are underpaid.
The radio manager, however, said he would be very sad if a radio station in the Bono Region makes GHS 80,000 a month and cannot pay its least staff GHS 1,000.
