Speaking at a pre-match press conference today, Coach Hughton acknowledged the high stakes involved, underscoring the game’s significance not only for the nation but also for himself and the players.

He was, however, optimistic about the team’s chances of playing at the Baaba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, which he believed would fuel the team’s resolve to deliver a strong performance.

“We are playing at home, we have a good record here and it is a record that we want to continue”, he said.

He added that preparation has been impressive, and the team will do everything possible to defeat their opponents.

A win against the Central African Republic tomorrow will secure the team a place in next year’s AFCON which will take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024, in Ivory Coast.
