Former Sports Minister and MP E.T. Mensah Dies At 77

Former Sports Minister and Member of Parliament for the Ningo-Prampram constituency, Enoch Teye (E.T.) Mensah has passed away at the age of 77.
He reportedly died on the evening of Sunday, October 1, in South Africa where he was receiving medical attention for an illness.
He was a leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), elected in the 1996 parliamentary elections to represent Ningo-Prampram, and held the seat for almost a decade.
In addition to serving as the Sports Minister during both terms of the Rawlings administration, E.T. Mensah also served as an Education Minister, a Minister for Employment and Social Welfare, the Mayor of Accra, and a Council of State member, among others, in his political life.
His death coincides with that of former First Lady, Theresa Kufuor who also passed away on Sunday.
