United States midfielder, Yunus Musah is preparing to face off with his parent country, Ghana in Wednesday’s international friendly happening on US soil at the Geodis Park in Nashville.

The 20-year-old AC Milan central midfielder was born to Ghanaian parents in the US and spent most of his life in several European countries. He eventually decided to represent the Yankees even though he was also eligible to play for Ghana.

Ahead of the friendly, Yunus, in a pre-match interview has described the upcoming match as a special one, knowing he will be going up against his parent country.

“It’s really special because a lot of people from the Ghanaian community will be watching the game knowing I was eligible to play for Ghana and I have roots from there so it’s a special game,” he said.

He added that he has several family members from Ghana who will be watching the game as well.

Yunus also hopes that the US will recover from the 3-1 defeat they suffered at the hands of Germany in their friendly game.

“There are different teams, obviously. Different qualities and as I said Germany is a completely different team to Ghana so we are trying to analyze them and trying to bounce off from the Germany game,” he said.
