After suffering a 2-0 defeat against Mexico at the Bank of America Stadium during Sunday’s international friendly, national team coach Chris Hughton has called for the Black Stars to make some pertinent changes.
According to him, one of the key factors that accounted for the defeat was that his side presented no goal threat to Mexico.
He said the team would have to make needed adjustments in the next friendly against the United States.
“To have opportunities, it means you need to penetrate a team, and generally, there [are] two ways to penetrate, and that is working through the thirds or runs behind. They are the two areas we certainly need to do better”, Coach Hughton observed during a pre-game conference.
“Against Mexico, I said even though [in] the first half the performance was a decent performance, over the 90 minutes, we were not a big enough threat on their goal. That’s what has to change” he added.
Ghana and the US will square off in Wednesday’s international friendly at Geodis Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
