Ghanaian musicians, Kaakyire Kwame Fosu (KK Fosu) and Bless Kwabena Boateng have been involved in a car accident.
The accident happened on Saturday, May 25, 2024, near Apam Junction on the Accra—Cape Coast road.
Nana Obiri Yeboah, who was driving the musicians and one occupant, told MzGee on UTV’s United Showbiz program that they were travelling to Breman-Asikuma in the Central Region when the accident occurred.
He detailed that they were going to perform at a wedding ceremony.
Sadly, a wrongful overtaking by a white Benz 350 caused the accident which claimed the life of one person.
“Like the other cars, we also moved to the shoulder of the road to allow the errant driver to pass, it turned out that he crashed into our car, a situation I became aware of when I regained consciousness.
“The three passengers had already been sent to the Apam Hospital when I regained consciousness. I asked and was told where they had been sent. I quickly ensured that our key belongings were secured before heading to the hospital. I can confirm that KK and Bless suffered broken legs, KK’s own was less damaging than Bless’, the other passenger, an aide to Bless, apparently died on the spot,” the driver stated.
KK Fosu, Bless and the deceased were later transported in an ambulance to Accra—where the two musicians are currently receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC).
