Mohammed gave Asante Kotoko a 2-0 win over
Amidaus Professionals in Tema on Sunday
afternoon on match day 13 of the ongoing
Ghana Premier League. Mohammed scored his
first goal eight minutes from half time when,
after receiving a pass from strike partner Seidu
Bancey, he rounded up the goalkeeper and
slotted in the empty net for the opener. The
forward scored his second eight minutes from
time after heading home a cross from Eric
Donkor.
Mohammed Polo began his reign as head
coach of Hearts of Oak on a winning note after
a 1-0 win over Dwarfs in Cape Coast. Thomas
Abbey netted the game's only goal midway
through the first half to seal the points. Hearts
of Oak remain four points behind arch rivals
Asante Kotoko.
A first half penalty converted by Bernard
Morrison was all Ashanti Gold needed to post a
1-0 win over Hasaacas in Obuasi. The result
leaves the Miners in third place; a point adrift
of Hearts of Oak.
Medeama SC remains fourth after a 1-1 draw
at home with New Edubiase United in Tarkwa.
Defender Victor Ayire headed the hosts in
front, but Stephen Manu leveled the scores to
earn a point for the Bekwai-based side.
Heart of Lions thrashed Berekum Chelsea 3-0
in Kpando to move to fifth on the log. Goals
from Conney Idan, Sherriff Mohammed and
Samuel Yeboah sealed the points for Lions and
heaped more pressure on last season's runners
up.
Liberty Professionals defeated Bechem United
2-1 in Accra. Tamimu Muntari and Abdul Samir
Jafaru gave the hosts a 2-0 lead before Paul
Manu pulled one back with a late penalty.
King Faisal moved out of the bottom three
after a 1-0 win over Inter Allies in Kumasi. An
early strike by Prince Boateng sealed the
points for the hosts, who are now 2 points
clear of the relegation places.
Emmanuel Allan scored six minutes into the
second half to hand Aduana Stars a 1-0 win
over Wa All Stars in Dormaa.
