Celine Dion
has cancelled her work commitments so that she can look after her husband of 20 years, René Angélil.
The My Heart Will Go On star has announced that she will be
concentrating all her efforts into helping her 72-year-old husband
recover after he underwent an operation to remove a cancerous tumour from his throat.
Celine has had to ditch her Asia tour dates and her Las Vegas residency as well as any other commitments that she had booked.

In a statement released to People magazine, the singer
said: ”I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my
husband’s healing, and to do so, it’s important for me to dedicate this
time to him and to our children.
“I also want to apologise to all my fans everywhere, for
inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and
support … at this very difficult and stressful time.”
The Think Twice star,
who has three children with René, 13-year-old son René-Charles and
three-year-old fraternal twins Eddy and Nelson, took two years off from
2000 to 2002 to help look after her husband, who was diagnosed with
throat cancer.
Shortly after the couple welcomed their first child.

Palace in Las Vegas, which originally began with an epic five-year
residency from 2003 to 2007.
She then signed back on for a new residency in 2011 and while it
started as a three-year stint, it was extended last year to 2019.
