workshop for Pastors and Church leaders in in Sunyani.
The three days program is under the theme “The role of a Pastor or a
Leader in evangelism, winning souls for Christ.”
Regional Suprintendent of A.G Brong Ahafo, Rev. John Felix Yeboah in
an interview with this reporter said, “Today people has relax when it
comes to evangelism and that call for us to organize this three (3)
days training. Our aim is to plant 3,000 Churches in Ghana and you
can’t start something if you don’t have any knowledge about it.”
“Everybody should know his/her responsibility, if you are a Christian,
you should know that evangelism is not the responsibility of the
Pastor alone, Christians should help in winning souls for Christ and
the Pastors are there to nurture and teach the souls.”
He said there’s a purpose in God’s calling for each believer and the
most important thing is evangelism.
According to him, A Pastor leads, feeds, nurtures, comforts, corrects
and protects. “The Pastor’s goal is not to please the sheep, but to
feed them, not to tickle their ears, but to nourish their souls. He is
not to offer merely light snacks of spiritual milk, but the
substantial meat of biblical truth.”
Speaking on the current energy crisis in the country, Rev. John Felix
Yeboah said the blame must stop and the engineers of V.R.A, E.C.G,
Gridco and and all stakeholders should come together and find a
lasting solution to the current problem.
“The ‘Dumsor’ has cause harm to almost all the churches in the
country, sometimes you may be in the middle of church service and the
lights off, so many church instruments has damage as a result of this
power outages.”
“I suggest the engineers shoud not rely on hydro, but should think
outside the box and convert solar and wind into energy.”
Dr. Rich Frazer of SOS International speaking at the workshop said
every believer has been called to preach and share the word God.
“We are on the mission of God, So we need to work to sustain the
mission of God.”
He called on Christians not to go to only those that need them, but to
those that needed most.
“You and i has a responsibility to carry on, You have nothing to do
but to save souls. It is not your business to preach so many times,
and take care of this or that society; but to save as many souls as
you can to bring as many sinners as you possibly can to repentance.”
Rev. Francis Ohene Agyekum, District Pastor of A.G at Dormaa East
entreated participants to build partnership in the ministry.
“Build partnership with trusted people, don’t depend on your
annointing alone, don’t on what you’ve learned, don’t depend on what
you know alone, seek something from somebody, because somebody may be
of help to you.”
He charged Men of God to support themselves because they are all
fighting for one goal and same objectives.
“Lets support ourselves, not even when things are not going well,
intimes of diffculties, lets pray for one another and it will help us
to stand firm.”
Pastor Francis Ohene Agyekum who was speaking on the topic “The Moment
of Gethsamane” advised Christians to endeavour to seek the will of the
father.
