Veteran Ghanaian Musician, Jewel Ackah To Be Buried Today

Veteran Ghanaian highlife musician, Jewel Ackah, will be buried today, Saturday, 04 August 2018.

He will be laid to rest at Axim in the Western Region.

Jewel, who is known for composing the National Democratic Congress’ anthem, will be laid in state at the Tema Community 11 Complex Park today followed by interment at his hometown in the Western Region.

He died in his Tema Community 11 home on April 27 after battling stroke and other sicknesses for about a decade.

Jewel died at the age of 73—and left behind 11 children.

Jewel Ackah, is remembered for songs like ‘Joyce San Bra’, ‘Abena’, ‘Dear, ‘Kyer3 Mase’, ‘Manye Yie’ , ‘Asomdwe Hehe’, ‘Bodambo Bodambo’.

He was affectionately called the Prince of Highlife.
