Mr Andrew Vortia, the lawyer of Akuapem Poloo, has bemoaned her harsh jail term.

The case involving Ghanaian actress, Rosemond Brown took a different turn following an Accra High Court sitting yesterday, December 1, 2021.

Akuapem Poloo is to spend 82 days in jail after the Criminal Court 1 Division of the High Court dismissed her appeal.

Reacting to this, Mr Vortia described the court’s decision as harsh.

“I don’t intend to go further to the court of appeal, we just take it as the high court decides.

“In both our addresses the prosecution and the defence attorney we were almost unanimous that the sentence imposed on her was harsh they made it in the address, that clearly it was harsh”, he said in a press briefing that Newshuntermag.com has come across.

Akuapem Poloo’s lawyer also talked about the difficulties that the actress’ son will face following the ruling.

“The son that the law seeks to protect, they are going to make life very difficult for the child in the absence of the mother. They’ve clicked together for quite a long time, they’ve jelled for a long time. That sentence does the child more harm than good,” he lamented.
