Costa Rica has secured their first-ever victory against Japan in the World Cup 2022.
They have never beaten the Japanese until Sunday’s Group E encounter at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, Al Rayyan in Qatar.
The first half ended without a goal. None of the teams even got a shot on target.
In the second half, Japan improved with their attacks. However, their desperation to score a goal did not yield any positive results.
Costa Rica’s Keysher Fuller Spence got the winning goal for his side in the 81st minute.
Japan grabbed a shocking 2-1 win against Germany in their opening match of the World Cup 2022.
Costa Rica on the hand tasted a heavy 7-0 defeat when they faced Spain a few days ago.
The next Group E match will be between Spain and Germany at 7 PM.
