“It Took Me The Whole Night Just To Download 720KB Of A Microsoft Word Document” – A Disappointed MTN Ghana User Shares His Horrible Experience

One of the frustrating things on earth is a slow internet connection or poor network. Over the years, Ghanaians have been complaining about the poor services rendered to them by telecommunication networks in the country.
Sadly, these complaints have not been given much attention and there have not been any significant improvement in the services of these telcos.
On this same subject, an MTN User, Daniel T. Adama, who resides in Sunyani—the capital of the Bono Region has expressed his disappointment in the company.
In a post sighted by Newshuntermag.com on Facebook, Mr T. Adama bemoaned over how it took him the whole night to download just 720KB of a Microsoft word document.
He also complained about how he misses important webinars and other important online engagements which include examinations.
His numerous complaints, according to him, has fallen into deaf ears of the biggest telecommunication network in Ghana currently—MTN.
Looking at all these frustrations, the disappointed MTN Ghana user said he will have no option than to explore other options if the company refuse to work on their poor services.

My Horrible MTN Experience
Dear MTN Ghana, I write this piece with great disappointment in the services I have received from you in the past two years.
I started using my current MTN number in 2006 and ever since, I have remained a faithful customer of your services in good and bad times. Even when I left the shores of this country, I still carried and used my number on roaming services.
My disappointment stems from the fact that in over two years you have not been able to rectify a network problem in my vicinity which is of great importance to inhabitants within my vicinity.
Permit me to share my horrific experience in these two year with you. I could not get internet access on my phones or any family members phone when I’m at home or even outside my house due to the terrible network situation around. I personally lodged complaint at your Sunyani office and nothing was done about it. I was advised at that time by one of your staff to purchase the turbonet since it could improve or give me better access to the internet at home. I bought two (one for home, one for my company) with high expectations only to be disappointed in its efficiency.
I decided to engage you on Twitter since you have an active presence there. On 25th September,2020, your promised sending a team of technicians to work on the issue. I never met those technicians and the problem never got solved. It has since become terrible just to say the least.
I have missed several meeting online due to the terrible network at home. I have rescheduled several events online due to this persistent problem. At a point, it took me the whole night just to download 720KB of a Microsoft word document. I have had to carry my turbonet to a friend house just to join an online class or stay late in the office just to write online examinations due to terrible network at home.
It’s disheartening to know that you spend a lot of money to buy data but can’t access the internet at home and the network provider is not worried about your plight.
Recently, I was moving around my house like a mad man just to get a good place that will give me better network so I could join a webinar at 12am but that ended in vain.
In short, I have missed a lot of very important meetings, workshops and opportunities because of the poor services you give me.
I am giving you a two week ultimatum to work on your services or I will explore other options available to me because you have been shortchanging me and my family for far too long.
Even if I have to pay for your technicians to come and make the network better, let me know. I’m highly disappointed in all these terrible services. Enough is enough!
