Some concerned card bearing members of NPP in all the 12 constituencies of the Bono Region have called on the leadership of the party to be fair to all the flagbearer aspirants who want to lead the party in 2024.
According to the group, the recent acts of bias by executives of the party, if not checked, would negatively affect the party’s chances of winning the 2024 election.
They added that last year, the General Secretary of NPP, John Boadu, outlined rules and regulations to govern the conduct of aspirants and their supporters of which those who violated the rules will be dealt with per party laws.
They said since the announcement of the rules and regulations, it is sad that only Alan Kyeremanteng’s supporters are being dealt with by the party leadership which is not good.
The concerned NPP card bearing members disclosed this at a press conference in Sunyani.
The leader of the group, Hon. Noah Dwuma Ramsey, who is the former Berekum Constituency Organizer, in his address accused some top officials of the party which includes the Deputy General Secretary, Nana Obiri Boahen, Northern Regional Executives of the party, Chairman Wontumi and some Northern MPs who are campaigning for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, which the party has done nothing to them.
He said it has become clear that supporters of other aspirants who try to stand to protect their own are being rounded up by security personnel or subjected to intimidation by the national executives of the party.
Hon. Noah Dwuma Ramsey pleaded for equal opportunities for aspirants, if not, the party will face a huge defeat in the 2024 general election.
They have called on President Akufo Addo, former President John Agyekum Kuffuor, Hon. Yaw Osafo Marfo, Kwame Pianim among others to stand up and make their voice heard in order to save the party.
