Ghana Qualifies For 2022 World Cup After Holding Nigeria To A 1-1 Drawn Game In Abuja

Ghana has booked a ticket to the 2022 World Cup.

Thomas Partey’s goal in the tenth minute did the magic for the Black Stars.

Nigeria equalized through a penalty kick which was converted successfully by William Troost-Ekong.

The Black Stars of Ghana were able to hold Nigeria to a 1-1 drawn game–and qualified with help of the away goal rule.

The game was full of tension for both sides.

It was a day of jubilations for Ghanaians after the referee blew his whistle to end the game following 90 plus additional minutes of play.

The first leg of the 2022 World Cup playoff between Ghana and Nigeria ended in a stalemate at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will take place in Qatar.
