Renowned Ghanaian media personality, Nana Aba Anamoah has recounted the moment she had to read the news on TV after a car has knocked her son.
According to her, the news about a car knocking her son was sent to her via a text message from her mother.
This was when she was about to read the major news bulletin.
Being in a dilemma, Nana Aba said on Joy FM’s ‘Media, Showbiz and Motherhood Dialogue’ that she gathered the courage to read the news.
“I was late for the news, and just before I was about to go on air, I received a text message from mom saying she had picked up my son and a car had just knocked him,” Nana Aba Anamoah disclosed. She added: “I didn’t know what to do.”
When they were on break, Nana Aba recalled she informed her director and she was shocked about her decision.
Touching on why she made such a decision, Nana Aba Anamoah said, “I was thinking about my career, Emma Morrison, the producer would’ve understood, but I wasn’t sure the men who were in charge of the organisation would understand, but I sailed through that bulletin.”
She added, “It was the most difficult decision I had to make choosing my career over my child… it was painful, I felt so bad because I let myself down and I let my son down.”
Nana Aba Anamoah further stated that she would walk away if she is to be in such a situation now.
