Ghanaian comedian, Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, well-known as Funny Face, has narrated his ordeal.
The ‘Kasoa Trotro’ has been through a lot in the past years.
He was referred to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital multiple times.
Things got worse after losing his brother and father.
Speaking in an interview with 3FM that Newshuntermag.com has come across, the comic actor divulged he was also robbed.
“My brother died, and they broke that news to me at the psychiatric hospital. That news made me feel like I wanted to die.
“My father died days later,” he disclosed.
Following the sad news, Funny Face thought of killing himself as he bought rat poison.
After buying it, he waited for change and thought, “That was when it hit me that I was not ready to die. If you want to die why are you waiting for change.”
According to him, people go through a lot after receiving treatment when they think about their actions.
“You come back and realise the things that you did. Because you’ve done a lot of stuff, now the consequences and the guilt will be weighing on you.”
Funny Face further advised people not to give up when in a situation like that.
“Everything you go through, if you stay focused, you would look back at these times and laugh, I am a living testimony.
“There will be somebody you trust, don’t give up on the person. Trust them, speak to them and listen to them. For me, that was my manager,” he advised.
