The 12 Ghanaian boxers who were sent to Dakar, Senegal to fight for a place in the 2024 Olympic Games have all been eliminated from the competition.

Ghana presented seven male and five female boxers for the qualifiers, however, neither of them could secure a spot in the forthcoming Paris 2024 games.

UK-based Ghanaian boxer Seth Gyimah was knocked out of the opening rounds of the qualifiers while 2022 Commonwealth Games medalists, Abdul Wahid Omar and Jonathan Tetteh were both eliminated on points. Fellow medalist Joseph Commey also failed to go past the quarterfinals.

Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey strived to reach the semifinals of the contest but was knocked out by Tunisian boxer Ala Eddine Zidi.

Later in November this year, however, the Black Bombers will have another shot at a qualification contest, presenting them a new chance to fight for a spot in the Olympics.
