Yemi Alade, a disappointment at VGMA 2015

Popular Nigerian Afro pop singer, Yemi Alade, who is noted in Ghana
especially for her hit song ‘Johnny’, utterly failed to impress at the
prestigious Vodafone Ghana Music Awards held on April 11, 2015 at the
Accra International Conference Centre.

With two stunning dancers and a beautiful dance act, Yemi Alade, who
has one of the finest voices in Africa, couldn’t keep up with the
momentum of her song ‘Johnny’ as her attempt to mime didn’t work.

This made her resort to being a backing vocalist of her own song
playing in the background on stage as she danced her way out to appease
her fans.

Yemi Alade’s gaffe is one of the numerous performance flops recorded on
the night including that of Ghanaian legendary award-winning highlife
artiste, DL (Daddy Lumba), who explained it was due to ill-health.

Yemi Alade’s blunder follows a recent incident in Germany where she
arrived 30 minutes late for her performance in Berlin. The angry fans
were given a refund including an apology from Yemi in German.

Do
Ghanaians deserve an apology?
