Nigerian billionaire and Chairman of Geregu Power PLC Femi Odetola has made a hefty donation of 750 million naira which is close to a million dollars to some 750 students of Augustine University in Lagos.
He announced this at a ceremony on Thursday, October 26, during his inauguration as Chancellor of the University.
The businessman and philanthropist said the gesture is geared towards transforming the organization that he is associated with.
He also indicated that the funds will help mitigate the financial challenges facing students and parents.
“Today I was inaugurated as the Chancellor of Augustine University. I strongly believe in transforming establishments that I am associated with. I gave a gift of one million to each of the seven hundred and fifty students. I hope this donation of seven hundred and fifty million naira assists the plight of the parents of our students in this difficult time”, he wrote on his page on X.
