Police Begin Investigations Into Koforidua Tragic Reservoir Drowning

The Koforidua Effiduase District Police Command has launched investigations into the unfortunate death of three technicians who suffocated and drowned in a reservoir at the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) office in Koforidua in the Eastern Region on Monday, October 9.
The deceased were among five workers who had been tasked to perform maintenance works in the reservoir which belongs to the Produce Buying Company (PBC).
It is alleged that some safety protocols were not properly adhered to, leading to the tragedy.
Two other workers on site quickly alerted the police who arrived alongside officials from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), and the ambulance and fire service.
The victims were identified as Mr. Ashie said to be in his 60s, Jonathan who is in his 20s, and Octopus believed to be in his early 40s.
Police are currently probing the matter to unveil the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
