Chief Executive Officer of Sunyani-based Suncity Radio, Mr Ransford Antwi has urged the ruling New Patriotic Party government to reciprocate the constituency with which the Sunyani municipality has kept faith to bring the party to power, and give it, its due development and transformation.
Re-acting to the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister’s clarification on the Sports complex project on Suncity Radio, Mr Ransford Antwi said the whole approach was shrouded in uncertainties and this gave way to all manner of speculations in citing the project at Dormaa Ahenkro, instead of Sunyani-the regional capital.
“A more appropriate consultations and communication on the move could have done a lot of good to all parties involved. It’s like a mother giving fufu to some of her children and leaving some to go hungry, only for her to coax the hungry that she will later prepare some fried rice for them- a hungry man is an angry man”, he lamented, and said the Regional Minister only sought to calm nerves.
The Suncity radio Boss also cited the poor state of the Sunyani Coronation Park, since 1992, home to about four Division One League Clubs in Ghana. He also cited lack of Modern Airport to facilitate good business in Sunyani, which he described as “a Conference destination in the Ghanaian landscape”, and urged the NPP government to seriously consider improving infrastructural and institutional development in this “bread basket” area.
“It’s time to give Sunyani its due because it has been fantastic in consistently voting massively to bring the NPP to power,” he stated.
