Croatia has whipped Canada to thwart their World Cup 2022 dream.
The hope of the Canadians to progress to the next stage of the tournament ended after they were beaten 4-1 in their Group F game against Croatia.
Alphonso Davies scored Canada’s first goal in the 2nd minute with a brilliant header.
The Croatians equalized through Andrej Kramaric in the 36th minute.
Before half-time ended, Marko Livaja, who replaced Nikola Vlasic, put Croatia ahead after 44 minutes of play.
Kramaric got Croatia’s third goal in the 70th minute.
The Croatians extended their lead to four when Lovro Majer scored during the stoppage time.
Earlier, Morocco defeated Belgium 2-0 in the other game in Group F of the World Cup 2022.
Croatia leads the group with four points, the same as Morocco in the second position.
In the third position is Belgium with three points. Canada is at the bottom without a single point.
