The Black Galaxies of Ghana got their first victory in the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2023).
They fought back to defeat Sudan 3-1 in their second Group C match of the tournament in Algeria.
The Sudanese side scored first in the 31st minute through A.G.H Nooh Mohamed.
Ghana equalized through Konadu Yiadom after 45+3 minutes.
It was an open game for both teams after the Ghanaian team cancelled Sudan’s lead.
Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scored from a penalty kick after he was fouled in the box in the 64th minute.
Unfortunately, Barnie was sent off following his tackle against a Sudanese player.
The Black Galaxies of Ghana made a dramatic comeback to extend their lead to 3-1 when Seidu Suraj found the net after 90+8 minutes of play.
Goalkeeper, Ibrahim Danlad did some important saves to secure Ghana’s victory.
This result comes after Ghana lose to Madagascar in their opening match.
