The recent Taabea Ghana Music Awards UK 2023 has been the topic of discussion for a while following the spat between Shatta Wale and radio presenter Kwesi Aboagye over a £80,000 performance fee claim.
Adding to the fire now is controversial DJ and artiste, Mark Kwesi Arthur, also known as DJ Azonto, who has disclosed that he was paid a sum of £60,000 for his own performance at the ceremony.
In a recent interview with Accra-based Asempa FM, he revealed that he was paid a performance fee of £40,000 and an additional £20,000 for his expenses. He also showed off a pair of red high-heeled shoes he said were given to him by the CEO of the awards scheme, Alordia.
“Shatta is my senior man, I took half of what Shatta took, that’s 40,000. So with my extra costs of costumes, and the pampers and the heels he bought for me. So if I am to add the expenses, in all, he gave me about £60,000,” he claimed.
