Ghanaian Chef, Ebenezer Smith, widely known as Millennium Chef Smith, has claimed to have set a new Guinness World Record.

He asserted to have earned the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Millennium Chef Smith said he cooked for 802 hours and 25 minutes.

He attempted to confirm this at a press conference at the La Palm Beach Hotel in Accra.

Ahead of the press conference, a banner shared on social read: “Press Conference. Unveiling the New World Cook-a-thon Record Holder. Millennium Chef Smith from Ghana with an incredible 802 hours, 25 minutes to dethrone Irish King, Alan Fisher.”

Chef Smith began his cook-a-thon journey on February 1, 2024.

Despite his aim to cook for 1200 hours, the Ghanaian Chef ended his cook-a-hon on March 6, 2024, after clocking 820 hours.

He showed a supposed certificate from Guinness World Records for his effort.

Many Ghanaians have congratulated him in social media posts.

Chef Smith’s success comes months after another Ghanaian Chef, Failatu Abdul Razak, couldn’t break the record after her cook-a-thon in Tamale.

Away from the cook-a-thon, Afua Asante Aduonum was also disqualified following her sing-a-thon in Accra in December 2023.

Which Ghanaian is in the Guinness World Record?

Ghanaians took solace from the fact that a Ghanaian based in the United States, Abubakar Tahiru, set a Guinness World Record after hugging 1,123 trees.

Barely a month ago, a Ghanaian toddler, Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah gained global recognition as the youngest artist in the world. He became the youngest male artist in the world at the age of 1 year 152 days.

Ace’s mother, Chantelle, who is also an artist, disclosed that she discovered her son’s passion for painting when he was just 6 months old.

Other Ghanaians not residing in the country currently, have achieved this feat in the past.
