Ghanaian Chef, Ebenezer Smith, well-known as Chef Smith, was arrested a few days ago.

His arrest came shortly after he claimed to have broken the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Smith was reportedly apprehended when holding a press conference in Accra to announce his supposed Guinness World Records cook-a-thon feat.

Multiple reports said his arrest was caused by Ghanaian artiste, Nana Boroo, over a debt.

His manager confirmed the presence of some security personnel at the venue—and bemoaned about them being harassed in an interview on Hitz FM.

He, however, denied Smith owing Nana Boroo.

But in a statement issued by Amadia Shopping Center, a sponsor of the Ghanaian Chef’s cook-a-thon, he breached a contract between them.

They clarified that the company is owned by Nana Boroo’s sister and managed by him.

Other factors leading to his arrest were mentioned in the statement.

Chef Smith has been trending on social media after he claimed to have broken the cook-a-thon record.

His claim has been declared as fake by Guinness World Records. The international record outfit also disclosed that Smith’s certificate showcased at his press conference was not genuine.
